THIS WEEK -- We are pleased to invite back, via Zoom, beloved former Rotarian Bob Smith. Bob is now the provost at Valley Forge Military College. He will speak to us about its academy and the college as well as give us an update on his wonderful family and Sam's miraculous recovery and journey.

LAST WEEK-- Gerry Foran gave an informative presentation about our Rotary Foundation, how it is funded, how it works, and how it benefits our club and the community.

Gerry Foran tells us all about the Bethlehem Rotary Foundation

District Governor Bob Hobaugh and Past District Governor Cindy Hornaman joined us at the Kingspry conference room in Downtown Bethlehem to present an honorary Paul Harris Fellow award to Bruce Palmer for all of his pro bono accounting work on behalf of District 7430. Bruce has been enjoying his retirement by spending lots of time babysitting his grandchild -- and another little Palmer is on the way!

L to R -- Bob Hobaugh, Bruce Palmer, Cindy Hornaman

President Deb outlined the services Bruce has provided to Rotary:

  • Bruce Palmer provided District 7430 with accounting and other services beginning the year Gerry Long was District Governor through 2020-2021;
  • Each year Bruce provided (a) a BCO-10, (b) a 990 for the District, (c) a 990 for the District 7430 Foundation, (d) a prior year financial statement for the District, and (e ) a prior year financial statement for the District 7430 Foundation;
Our club presently pays $3,500 for these services annually but Bruce provided the services to the district without charge. Our club is grateful for all the services Bruce provided to the District and are honored to be able to present a Paul Harris Fellow to him in appreciation of his service.

NEXT WEEK -- We will meet at KingSpry again where we hold our changeover meeting and hold elections. Please try to attend in person, but you may participate and even vote via Zoom if you can't be with us in person.
