Our speaker last week was Steve Repasch from the Bethlehem Water Authority. The water authority oversees over 22 thousand acres in the Pocono Watershed. In order to continue providing clean water to the City of Bethlehem and 11 surrounding municipalities, a lot of work is done to maintain the watershed. Occasionally, trees are cleared to allow for continued growth and controlled burns help encourage wildlife habitats. The authority also sells off carbon for additional income. Steve noted that the property is a great place to hike and enjoy. You can find out more here: https://bethlehemauthority.org/
