Thank you to PE Thea Phalon who ran our meeting last week while I enjoyed the sights and sounds of Nashville and Memphis!
Our program this week featured Chris Nelson and Hopeton Clennon speaking about their service trips to Jamaica. Chris traveled with a group of eight to see a pilot program for a sustainable food cooperative which has potential for a global grant with the local Rotary Club. She also shared with us that she attended a local Rotary meeting. Hopeton spoke about the mission trip he took with a group of 30, including 10 local students. The group helps with projects while also getting a feel for the local culture and enjoying the beach. You might remember that the Bethlehem Rotary Foundation provided a scholarship grant this year to defray the costs of this travel for the students.

Mike McGovern gave us an update on the changes in leadership of the Bethlehem Rotary Foundation. The Foundation was even more impactful this year, dispersing almost $20,000 in grants to local non-profits thanks to the income from our Tastes & Tunes event. Thank you to all those who volunteer to serve on the board.
