THIS WEEK:
  • Same day! Different time!
  • No meeting at noon this Wednesday.
  • See you at 5:30 PM instead!
  • We will gather in the Bob Cohen Room at the Bethlehem Area Public Library, 11 W Church St, Bethlehem PA 18018. All are welcome!
  • This is the long-awaited Joint Meeting of the Rotary Club of Bethlehem and the Bethlehem Morning Star Rotary Club.
  • The celebrated speaker is Lin Erickson, Executive Director and CEO of the Da Vinci Science Center.
  • We return to midday meetings at the Fowler Family Center on Wednesday, January 25.

LAST WEEK:
  • Our Club is proud of the support we are able to provide for students the Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School. We welcomed two speakers, pictured below.  Both are also members of SkillsUSA.

Jonah McCloskey (Northampton H)
is interested in engineering.

Olivia Stoneback (Saucon Valley HS)
is interested in protective services.

  • Our keynote speaker was Bill Thawley, lead recruiter for the PA River Chapter (Allentown) of the Red Cross. He hung a 1940s nurse’s uniform on the wall and captured our attention with highlights of the broad scope of the work of the American Red Cross. The tagline on one of his fliers sums up the movement well: “365 Days = 365 Opportunities”. The organization started with the collection of blood donations in the 1940s. Today, there are 20,000 employees and 350,000 volunteers. Ongoing support for the Armed Services is particularly appreciated.
