On Wednesday, Becky Bradley, Executive Director of the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, presented to the membership an overview of One Lehigh Valley (1LV), which was written and designed by the LVPC in partnership with the Sustainable Communities Consortium. We thank Becky for her informative presentation.

Celebrate 110 Years of Rotary and 30 Years of PolioPlus!!! February 23rd marks an important date for us, the 110th anniversary of Rotary International. This year is also the 30th anniversary of the PolioPlus program. Over 2 Billion children have been immunized and 10 million children have been saved. We are a part of this story. Share the story this week and help grow the ideals of Rotary in our community.
BECOME A PAUL HARRIS MEMBER NOW: Every Rotary Club plays a part in the sustainability of The Rotary Foundation as the funds contributed are critical to the ongoing efforts of Rotary around the world. I stated at the beginning of my term as President that it is vital that we demonstrate as a club our commitment through our financial support. We as Rotarians believe in the mission of Rotary and through our contributions we do our part to perpetuate projects in the areas of focus including clean water, maternal and child health care and peace resolution. Please consider becoming a Paul Harris Fellow. You can start with a gift of any amount and like many of your fellow members, make contributions consistently over time. If you have missed a few years, make this the time to re-engage and contribute. These dollars come back to our District and provide the funding for our grant projects. We are already committed to next year’s grant project: Community Bike Works, which you heard about a few months ago. I announced that Stacey J. Scholl will join the Board of Directors to complete the remaining term of Deb Cummins who resigned from the Club. Stacey is the Director of Development at Moravian Village of Bethlehem and a longtime member of Bethlehem Rotary. Please join me in congratulating Stacey.

Fun & Friendship: This Thursday is Bowl & Bites, at Revolutions on Rt. 378, Join the fun on Thursday, February 26th from 6 -8 p.m. The cost is only $15 and includes bowling, food and soft drinks. See Buck Jones to sign up. Bring family and friends. Last year’s event was very well attended.
