We are back at Prime Steak House on Wednesday for our regular meeting and Joan Pierce will deliver her new member classification talk.
On Saturday morning, March 7th 2026, several Rotarians delivered over 50 Easter baskets to The Kindness Project’s store location in Macungie, the culmination of our Club’s February community service project. These baskets are made available for foster families to choose from, along with the regular inventory of the Kindness Project’s clothing and supplies offered free of charge to support foster parents in improving the lives of their foster children. Thanks to all Bethlehem Rotarians who provided over 20 baskets ready for delivery, and to all those who pledged funds to help purchase materials to build the other 30 or so baskets and augment some of the smaller pre-made baskets (please remember to complete your payment if you have not yet done so). A special thanks goes to Rotarians Lauren Quintrell and Dustin Simeone for assisting Deb and Mark Walter in the assembly and delivery of the baskets.
Next, our Club’s March community service project will be an evening of volunteer service at Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering. On Monday, March 23rd 2026, from about 4 p.m. to about 9 p.m., we will serve an evening meal for the 70 guests of the Shelter, prepared by our friends at the Freezer Ministry, in conjunction with new Bethlehem Rotarian Kevin Cope; we will also coordinate the availability of showering facilities for up to 11 male and 11 female Shelter guests. Several Rotarians have already responded to the request for volunteers made 2 weeks ago, but we welcome anyone else who wishes to participate. This will allow us to shorten the shift of a few who are currently slated to cover almost the entire evening and allow us all to enjoy each other’s company as we spend this evening in service to our community. STEM YEA 2026 Needs YOU.
This year’s STEM Youth Explorer Academy promises to be the best yet. Join us for our fifth year serving rising 7th graders from clubs in our District.
STEM YEA is scheduled from Thursday, July 9th, through Sunday, July 12th. Volunteers walk the students from the dorms to the dining hall and to the north side of the Kutztown University campus, where the “Astrobiology: The Search for Life on Mars” theme is carried out. You may volunteer for as little as four hours or for the entire 3 ½ days. We especially need volunteers for four-hour overnight shifts. We provide a sleeping room for you.
