Hello fellow Rotarians!
This past week we had one of our newer members, Kuda, present his Classification Talk. Kuda is currently attending Lehigh University and, prior to joining our Club, was a Rotarian in China. Please be sure to say hello to him the next time you see him at a meeting.
Our First Wednesday social at Fegley's BrewWorks in Bethlehem was a great success! We had to keep adding tables to accommodate everyone. An added bonus was we had 5 guests AND some long time Rotarians that have been unable to make noon lunches come out! Please be sure to tell your friends, colleagues and anyone else that you think would be a great addition to our club about our next First Wednesday social being held at Fegley's Bethlehem on May 7 at 5pm.
We have a few service projects coming up within the next 2 weeks. The first is dinner service at Bethlehem Emergency Shelter. Volunteer slots are currently full for this project. The next is the Centennial Park Spring Clean Up. We will be doing that on Saturday April 26 and Sunday April 27. If you are interested in helping out, please let Pete Mickolay know. All information for these events are also on our website.
Rotary Goes to the Races planning is starting as well. Dana Huber is chairing the committee again this year. Please contact her for meeting information, but we should all be thinking of raffle donors, event sponsors and friends & family we can invite to attend this fun and exciting night.
As part of our Community Budget, the Board has set aside money to donate to Polio Plus before the end of the Rotary year. We would like to challenge the club members to donate to this signature Rotary campaign. The Board will match, dollar for dollar, up to $1000 what our club members donate. Donations can be made to the Bethlehem Rotary Club Foundation by June 1. Please be sure to put "Polio Donation" on the memo line of your check.
And finally, a few housekeeping items.
- Dues billing has been sent out via email. Dues are once again $275 for cash or check payments, $295 for credit card payments. We are aware of an issue making credit card payments and are working with our processor to rectify the issue. Once it is fixed, I will send a sperate email to the Club.
- If you have not received your bill, please email Treasurer@Bethlehemparotary.org OR reach out to me or Bill Eckert.
- And that leads me to a project I have wanted to get done that has finally come to fruition! Email addresses have been set up specifically for the following officers and committee chairs:
-
President@Bethlehemparotary.org
-
Membership@Bethlehemparotary.org
-
Treasurer@Bethlehemparotary.org
-
Info@Bethlehemparotary.org
-
These emails will help with consistency in the transition of officers and committee chairs, as well as protecting personal email addresses. While the emails above are generic, they are tied to the individual occupying that role's ClubRunner listed email, so no additional email accounts need to be checked. When responding, the email will appear from President, Treasurer, etc. Thank you to DeeDee Foran for making this happen!
I wish you all a wonderful week and I hope to see you Wednesday for a much-needed informative meeting on Rotary Basics and ClubRunner Mobile. This is part of my vision, and a board initiative, to refresh all Club members on our basic Rotary information and hoe to navigate the many tools at our disposal.
