On Wednesday, Justin Teles presented his Classification Talk.  Justin is a Sales Executive at Corporate Environments/One Point, located in the former Laros/Sure Fit Building on Broad Street, just across from Moravian Village.  Justin's talk was both informative and entertaining.  In addition to pursuing his career, Justin is immersed in community service, a commendable aspect of his life that mirrors Rotary's mantra of "Service above Self."  We're glad you are a Rotarian, Justin.
 
Looking Ahead:
 
Please take the time to consider a donation to the 31st Annual Strike Out Hunger Night.  $25 goes a long way to sending local children to see a major league game in Philadelphia, and donations can be accepted until this Tuesday, July 21st.  We're still trying to reach our goal for this year.  Contact Jill or Gerry Long for ticket information.
 
Deb Geiger reminded us to please keep working for silent auction items for Tastes and Tunes.  In addition to gift certificates, sports souvenirs, art work, tickets and other high interest items, please check out your attics and basements for hidden treasures that would generate bids.  We're getting closer to our October 4th event.
 
Please plan to attend our August 12th meeting at Muskiest.  The Hoover Mason Trestle is on the agenda.
   
This Wednesday, I will deliver the Presidential/Club address, outlining our plans for the 2015-2016 Rotary year.

  • The $1,025 we've collected thus far buys 41 tickets for Northeast Ministries, Boys and Girls Club and S2L kids.  
  • Our Goal is $2,475 turned in to the Phillies by July 21st 
  • We need 99 more ticket purchases ($25 each) to meet our obligation. 
  • Please call Gerry Long (610) 625-5105 if you would like to give a fun night to these kids.

Rodeo reaches troubled youth in Queensland

Students at the Shaftesbury Rodeo Academy in rural Queensland, Australia, know they have to attend school and complete their work if they want to take part in the weekly Friday night rodeo, eight seconds of heart-stopping bull-riding action. Through the school, Rotary members are providing basic academics and farming skills to Wakka Wakka Aboriginal children with troubled backgrounds.
