I hope everyone who celebrates Easter had a wonderful day with family. Upcoming this week we have our First Wednesday meeting at Adagio, beginning at 5:30. If you are attending please think about bringing a friend to this fun social night.
You should be receiving your dues invoice this week in your email inboxes. Please be on the lookout for that.
Regarding dues, you will notice there is a slight increase in the amount this year. After much thought and discussion, the Board of Directors has decided to raise membership dues. Currently dues are $256 annually ($128 semiannually). The new membership dues will be:
- $295 per year or $147.50 semiannually if paid by credit card
- There will be a $20 discount if dues are paid by cash or check.
- $275 per year or $137.50 semiannually
The increasing costs associated with membership, in addition to the decreasing size of our Club, have resulted in this difficult decision. This year we had very difficult budget decisions and had to temporarily suspend funding some projects we have done in the past, such as The Dictionary Project. Our dues pay for not only Rotary magazine, but also fund the projects and services that our Club does such as:
- Artisan of the Month
- Centennial Park
- Camp Neidig
- Guatemala Water Project
- Polio Plus
- Shelter Box
- Bethlehem Emergency Shelter
- BEST Scholarship
- Any additional projects the Club has interest in OR projects we receive requests to support.
- Insurance, supplies and website maintenance
The District Conference is coming up quickly. Final registration deadline is April 12th! The Conference is April 26th-28th and promises to be a great time with tons of activities focusing on our amazing city.
And last but not least, Bill Eckert has stepped up to fill in as Treasurer of the Club. With this change we will now need a Vice President/President Elect, so I will ask for interested parties to please reach out to me.
Thank you all for your continued support of Rotary!
