Excellent attendance! High energy! Wonderful Rotary fellowship! Delightful meal! Two clubs under one roof. The joint meeting of the Rotary Club of Bethlehem and the Bethlehem Morning Star Rotary Club was held in the Bob Cohen Room at the Bethlehem Area Public Library.
Special thanks to Past President Deb Walter for the concept and President Elect Lori Knerr for working out the details. Each club was given ten minutes to talk about service projects for the current year. Special thanks to Mark Walter for his work on the PowerPoint. Speakers from our club were Bill Rowe, Maria Dietrich, Jill Long, Pete Mickolay, and Marty Fins. It was an absolute honor for me to introduce our presentation and do a wrap up at the end. Al Philpotts introduced the keynote speaker and President Rodney Seifert was a most gracious host.
The keynote speaker was Lin Erickson, Executive Director and CEO of the Da Vinci Science Center. She was both informative and engaging. We had lots of questions about the new Da Vinci Center that will be constructed in the heart of Allentown. Lin made an effective appeal for support. In the words of Al, “Lin is an amazing resource for the Lehigh Valley and showed that last night. She did a great job and was delighted at the large turnout we had.”
