It was a great day for a car unveiling - with a good size crowd, beautiful weather and a lot of enthusiasm. Our club had 14 attendees and at least one guest. In the garage, presentations were given by the head of the project, Spencer Parker and Braiden Binder, the two students that visited our club, and Megan Beste, a staff member from Representative Susan Wild’s office who presented a congressional recognition certificate to the students. The Morning Call and TV 60 were there, too and provided great press and TV coverage that made that night's TV news and the next day's front page coverage in the Morning Call. The vehicle was innovative and beautiful. Several of the attendees, including me, owned the same model car, which was a 1970 Fiat 124 Spider. Brought back memories!
After the indoor showing and Q&A’s, we went outside for a light lunch from the BAVTS food truck, and that was to die for. The students served all with seconds, thirds, etc.
It was a great showcase of the professionalism of all at BAVTS.
We were given a small package of “goodies” and an invitation to the BAVTS food truck on Tuesdays from 4-7 PM at the campus. I can’t wait.
This Wednesday's meeting is at noon at Moravian Village. Lunch is $18 per person payable at the entrance. The lunch choices are wonderful and very flavorful. Our speaker will be Mike Orbin, a member of the Allentown Rotary Club speaking on the topic of "Sustainable Cambodia." Sounds like a great topic - please plan to be there.
