At our lunch meeting this week, Justin Porembo delivered his classification talk to us.  Hearing Justin’s presentation was a GREAT reminder of why we include this as part of becoming a new member.  It was interesting to hear about all of Justin’s experiences, both personal and professional.  These talks really give us all a great opportunity to learn more about each other, which helps to build the foundation for much deeper relationships.  Thank you, Justin for not only an excellent presentation, but also for fielding such an array of questions!  You have heard me say that I gauge the interest in the program by the questions that are asked…. so, I would say that you knocked it out of the park!  Well done!

With Tastes & Tunes now in our rearview mirror, we will turn our attention to a more global perspective of Rotary support.  Diane Donaher will speak to us this week about our goals and progress in supporting Rotary International, the philanthropic “wing” of Rotary.  As you know, we have goals for participation percentage AND dollars raised…. Please come support Diane as she helps lead our club to support this broader mission of Rotary.

We will also have 2 students from BAVTS who have been selected to be “shadows” on hand to tell us a little about themselves.  This is a great opportunity to have budding student leaders speak to a group…. So please come and provide a good audience for them!

Some reminders:

  • Board Meeting this Wednesday, December 12th – 7:30AM – Moravian College – Haupert Union Building – Snyder Room
  • RAGAS Movie Screening (Sex and Money) at Moravian College will be held on January 11th in Prosser Auditorium.  Mark your calendar and watch for more details.  We are hoping for a large turnout (Prosser holds 250 people!!)
  • Registration for District Conference is open.  The conference this year is in Allentown, so it will be very convenient for us all to attend.  Here is the link to view the event and get registered…

Yours in Rotary service,

President Mark Reed
