This week we enjoyed our annual meeting at Musikfest in the Main Stage Cafe at Artsquest on the South Side. The great attendance and delicious food "set the stage" for our speaker, Kassie Hilgert, President and CEO of Artsquest, who took the time to join us in what is clearly her busiest week of the year. Kassie brought us up to date on the phenomenal growth of Musikfest from its origins as a local community celebration to one of the largest music festival in the nation.
Following the meeting, Joe Klocek from Boyle Construction gave us a tour of Bethlehem's newest attraction, the Hoover-Mason Trestle. This elevated walkway, about a third of a mile long for now, provides visitors with an intimate, close up look at the mighty furnaces, machine shops and engines that were at the heart of the Bethlehem Steel plant.
