This past Wednesday, we heard from Jeff Parks and Darlene Heller about the "signs of the times." Actually they gave a very interesting presentation about Bethlehem's plans to sharpen up its two historic districts (Moravian on the North Side, Arts on the South Side) through new and more comprehensive signage. It was a fascinating look at how the city will use signs to help its 9 million annual visitors and tourists explore the many attractions and historic sites in the Christmas City.

Jill and Gerry Long reported that the Bethlehem Rotary Club has made it possible for 65 youngsters from Northeast Ministries and the Center for Independent Living (S2L) to attend the Phillies-Dodgers game next Wednesday as part of "Rotary Fights Hunger" night at Citizens Bank Park. Thanks to all the Bethlehem Rotarians who bought tickets to make this night possible for the children.
Thea Phalon reported on Tastes and Tunes. The committee is busy and making progress on all fronts, but they need someone to set up to make contacts with prospective participating restaurants. This would be a great opportunity for service in a very successful project. Please contact Thea or me if you would like to help.
Deb Geiger invited all club members to a wine and cheese party at PP Ham Malek's home on Sunday, August 9th, from 4:00 to 6:00. If you wold like to attend, please RSVP to either Ham or Deb.
