THIS WEEK -- During this Wednesday's meeting, we will learn about the first faith-based recovery high school in the nation -- Bethlehem's Kolbe Academy on Bridle Path Road. Principal John Petruzzelli and Development and Enrollment Director Joe Heinrich will educate us about their work with addicted teens in our community. Both gentlemen have backgrounds that include positions at Bethlehem Catholic and a deep commitment to serving children and the Lehigh Valley.
We take a moment to thank all who are devoting time and energy to our club ...the park, the website, the meetings, Tastes & Tunes, the Race to Zero (Purple Pinky) event, our NEW BOOK CLUB!
LAST WEEK -- We thank our own Chris Nelson and Deb and Jim Geiger who introduced us to one of the district's priorities this year -- increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion. We learned about the diversity in our community and the definitions of commonly used terms. The three have recruited Judy Sabino, LVHN's diversity/cultural liaison to assist us and soon Judy will help us look at unconscious bias which can be a significant barrier to increasing diversity in organizations.
