We were joined by BAVTS students, Kaylee Doughtery - Liberty and Jazmine Vargas - Saucon
Past President Deb Walter and 2022 Tastes & Tunes chairperson, gave us an update on the progress of the event toward the October 2, 2022 event date. Most importantly - she reminded us how we call can help:
Invite friends, family, colleagues and neighbors to attend
Share information on social media
Sponsor or contact a possible sponsor
Donate or seek an auction prize
ATTEND and VOLUNTEER (see Kerry Wrobel to volunteer for an assignment and a shift)

THIS WEEK:
Our weekly meeting will be in the Barnette Conference Room at the National Museum of Industrial History (NMIH).
We will be joined by BAVTS Artisan-of-the-Month Narissa Nieves of Liberty HS
Our featured speaker will be new Bethlehem Rotarian Bill Eckert, who will give his classification talk. Many of us first met Bill when he joined in to help us all with the annual spring cleanup of the Children's Garden on Sand Island. He has an interesting story to tell. Please join us this week to hear more.
Experience Bethlehem from the vantage point of persons experiencing homelessness. Rotary board member Deb Walter, City of Bethlehem Planning Director and Rotarian Darlene Heller, and Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering Executive Director Bob Rapp will lead us from Sand Island to the Minsi Trail Bridge and on to Christ Church where we will grab a walking brown bag lunch. See and learn the challenges of our street neighbors and learn about the plans the city has to meet their needs as we walk.
We will meet at 11 am on Saturday, September 24, at Sand Island for a two-hour stroll that includes lunch. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Our lunch is offered at no cost. You may make a donation to cover your lunch which will be prepared and provided by BES volunteers.
This BoardWalk, along with our homelessness book discussion on September 28, will prepare us to be excellent ambassadors for Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering at our Tastes and Tunes event on October 2.
TASTES & TUNES 2022
Proceeds from this year’s Tastes & Tunes benefit Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering. Join Rotarians as we read books about homelessness. Choose a book and read it before we discuss the books at our club meeting on September 28.
