This week is the 1st Wednesday Social; therefore, we will not have a regular noon meeting. Join us for a facility tour of Miller Keystone Center on 10/7 at 5:00pm. Please register under upcoming events or contact Darlene Heller.
Board Meeting
Board Meeting, Wednesday October 7th, noon. Topics of discussion to include finalizing the budget, proposal for allocation of the legacy gift from the Dick and Rheta Matthews estate, committee reports, discussion of updated club goals and creation of a new 3-year plan. As always, all club members are welcomed to join to listen in and board members are expected to join to participate in important decision-making for our club.
What an inspiring day of community sit, generosity, and Rotary service! Heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the Bethlehem Rotary Club Yard Sale on September 19. Together, we transformed donated treasures into meaningful support for the Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem!
Special thanks to Rocco and Electra Damato for generously providing storage and pricing space and for hosting this wonderful event. We also thank Pete Mikolay and his team at Ackroyd Hardware for serving as the collection point for the many community members who donated items.
To the hardworking Rotarians who devoted countless hours to collecting, sorting, pricing, organizing, setting up, and cleaning up—you made it all possible! Your dedication and teamwork truly embody Service Above Self.
The results are worth celebrating: the Yard Sale raised approximately $3,300, with every dollar benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem.
Several higher-value items from the sale have been reserved for an upcoming online auction, offering another chance to join the fun and support local youth.
November Service Project
Bring joy and a little Holiday Magic to children in need. Area 2 Rotary Clubs will join together to create gift filled holiday hope chests for children served by Lehigh Valley nonprofits through the Volunteer Center. On Saturday, November 21, we will wrap and fill shoe boxes with items donated by each club. Each box will have a value of about $25. Come join this activity and mingle with other Rotarians and get into the holiday spirit. Suggestions of bulk items to purchase (or have donated) is listed below. No food please! If you prefer to donate cash toward this project, please contact Dee Dee Foran. I will collect all items for the boxes at Rotary Meetings up to 11/18.
