So, my continuous pleas to attend our Annual meeting this past week were heard! We had a quorum (actually close to 60 members!) come the meeting, and we were able to elect the full slate of officers and board members for the next Rotary year! Thea’s team is set as Thea Phalon will soon head off for her final President’s Elect Training in Valley Forge! Thank you all for making it happen…
2019-2020 Officers & Board Members - Elected Unanimously!
This week we heard from Shannon Crooker from the Sustainable Energy Fund. Shannon kept our streak alive in terms of successful weekly programs as she shared with us new and innovative ways to invest in a sustainable future. Thank you Fred Fenselau for introducing us to Shannon!

So fellow Rotarians…. We are at a point in time where we must a “go / no-go” decision on the Dictionary Project. This is a project that takes some time to coordinate, so if we do not have someone assume a leadership role this week, we will need to pull the plug on this legacy project. I know that this sounds like a bit of an ultimatum, but it is just a reality that if we do not start now, we will not be able to pull it off before the end of the school year. If you do have an interest, please reach out to Paul Ricciardi for more information.
In a similar vein, we are desperate to find leadership for our upcoming Outreach Hunger project (see details below). The distinction here is that Outreach Hunger IS happening…. and it is happening soon (March 9th). This is an Area 2 event, and Assistant Governor, Ron Searfoss is looking for a point of contact from our club. We received a district grant to support this project, so it is important that we successfully carry it out! I know that we get GREAT support in terms of volunteering for the event…. but we need someone to lead the troops! Please reach out to me ASAP if you are willing to help in this regard.
Come to our meeting this week. Special guest Rob Vaughn from WFMZ will be providing “The Year in Review”. This is always a great program, so please come and hear from our local TV and news personality!!

Some reminders:
- Area 2 Outreach Hunger Event. It will be held Saturday, March 9th at Moravian College. We will need LOTS of volunteers, so please mark your calendars now, since that will be here before we know it! This is part of a district grant match, so please help to support this event… we will be assembling over 40,000 meals for local agencies.
- Be sure to get registered for the District Conference. This year it will be held in Allentown at the Renaissance Hotel at 7th and Hamilton. It will be held over the weekend of May 3rd, 4th and 5th. Know that you can register in an “ala carte” fashion taking in as much or as little of the conference as you schedule permits.
