Hello fellow Rotarians:

This past week Carol Ferguson shared very insightful and information packed presentation about Rotary’s Polio Eradication Program and the positive impact that low-cost live virus oral vaccination is having. But while live virus vaccines can protect millions of children worldwide, they also open the door to vaccine-derived forms of the disease that can spread quickly via air travel pathways.  Carol planned to end her talk with a video to emphasize the importance of continued polio vaccination in the United States, but the video would not play on the Moravian Village equipment.  It is available on the website and also in today's bulletin.  Click HERE to watch.

We have a lot of exciting things coming up in the Club:

  • News about a new meeting location is coming soon! And there will be lunch provided, as well as ample parking.
  • This Wednesday July 3 is our First Wednesday evening meeting at Adagio at 5:30pm. Please bring a friend for a fun night of fellowship and some really great food. I am requesting that you RSVP to me if you plan to attend since it is the day before a holiday.
  • Wednesday July 10 will be our annual meeting where we will vote in the new slate of board members. If you cannot be present please be on the lookout for an email from Ham.
  • We will be sharing our Community Budget with the projects and service projects we hope to complete this upcoming year.
  • Wednesday August 7 we will have our annual lunch and presentation at Musikfest! Always a great time. Please ask friends or colleagues to attend. The cost will be $20 per person. RSVP to Jack Worsley via text message at 484-515-0071. Final head count is due by 7/30.
  • Thursday August 8 is the Iron Pigs game with the Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem. We are still seeking some volunteers to attend with the kids. Cost is $39 per person and that includes your game ticket, food and soft drinks before the game. This is another really fun time and I encourage you to attend. Please RSVP to Jill Long at jillwilsonlong@gmail.com Final head count is due by 8/1.
  • Our new District Governor Katie Farrell will be attending our meeting on Wednesday August 14.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and if I do not see you, please have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Yours in Rotary,

President Lori Knerr
