So, Mother Nature stood in the way of our weekly meeting this week! I hope you were all able to stay warm and safe in the wake of last week’s wintery blast!
Unfortunately, as a result of the cancellation, we did not hear our annual “Year in Review” as presented by WFMZ News Anchor and Reporter, Rob Vaughn. Know that we are trying to re-schedule Rob’s presentation, as that is always amongst our most popular programs each year. Stay tuned for more on that…
I am THRILLED to report that Thea Phalon and Diane Donaher have agreed to co-chair the Outreach Hunger event that will be held on March 9th at Moravian College. Thank you, Thea and Diane, for stepping up to lead this great project! It is now our turn to support them… we will need to quickly fill a large number of volunteer positions for the day of the event. Please feel free to bring your children and/or friends…. It is a great way to show a potential member the great things that we do! More details below…
IMPORTANT: Some of you may be receiving auto-generated emails from Gail Evans through ClubRunner. The message states “You are no longer signed up for the Rotary Outreach Food Packaging Event” and “The event has been cancelled.” Please disregard these messages… the event is happening!! We will be providing opportunities to sign up at our next two meetings, so please come prepared to sign yourself up (along with a few friends!).
This week, come and hear Jacqueline Payne as she tells us “How to Grow Food in a Small Space.”
Some reminders:
Area 2 Outreach Hunger Event. It will be held Saturday, March 9th at Moravian College. We will need LOTS of volunteers, so please mark your calendars now, since that will be here before we know it! This is part of a district grant match, so please help to support this event… we will be assembling over 40,000 meals for local agencies.
DropKick Meeting will be held this Thursday, 5:30PM at Taps Tavern. Casual setting… Adult beverages…. Snacks…. Great conversation…. Come see what you have been missing!!
Be sure to get registered for the District Conference. This year it will be held in Allentown at the Renaissance Hotel at 7th and Hamilton. It will be held over the weekend of May 3rd, 4th and 5th. Know that you can register in an “ala carte” fashion taking in as much or as little of the conference as you schedule permits. Here is the link to view the event and get registered… District Conference Registration
On 23 February, Rotary celebrates its 114th anniversary. Take a virtual tour of Room 711, a re-creation of the office where Paul Harris met with three acquaintances to start a club based on “mutual cooperation and informal friendship.” Thousands of visitors to Rotary world headquarters experience the room every year. But we wanted to give all our members an opportunity to experience the room without traveling to Evanston.
