THIS WEEK:
On Wednesday, April 26, we look forward to welcoming Past District Governor Bob Hobaugh. The August Festival a/k/a Das Awkscht Fescht is a collectible car, family celebration, and music festival held in Macungie since 1964. It is a fundraiser that follows 3 areas of Rotary focus and 2 avenues of service. Bob wrote the history, and in 2023 became the Chair. It has a cross sell with Bethlehem's Musikfest. Please think about spending the lunch hour at the NCC Fowler building on the Southside. About a third of our club membership were in attendance last Wednesday.

LAST WEEK:
  • What a joy welcoming the BAVTS Artisan-of-the-Month, Sheilymar Rodrigues, from Freedom High School. She is pursuing a career in protective services and gave a very engaging talk.

  • Among the many accolades heaped on our beloved City of Bethlehem and Lehigh Valley are the following: “One of the 15 most underrated cities in America” and “One of the top 25 places to retire.”

  • These laid a meaningful foundation for the presentation by Alicia Miller Karner, Deputy Director of Economic Development for the City of Bethlehem. Her PowerPoint was entitled “An Overview of the Recent Development Activity in South Bethlehem.”

  • Lunch will be assorted wraps, salad and brownies for $14 (exact change please).  If you're planning to partake, please confirm to Jill Long (jillwilsonlong@gmail.com) by not later than 9 AM on Monday.  (NOTE:  THIS IS EARLIER THAN USUAL)

CENTENNIAL PARK CLEANUP:
  • Join fellow Rotarians on Saturday, April 29 from 9 AM to 11:30 AM ushering our favored park into Spring.

Yours in Rotary service,

President Hopeton Clennon
