Our program this week was a Classification Talk by new member Jennifer Davies. Jennifer was the first to give her presentation via Zoom, and she did a great job! She shared photos with us of growing up in several countries such as Abu Dhabi and Switzerland. She can read and write in Arabic. She started her career in advertising and was also a writer. She took time off to raise her four children including homeschooling them and is now working in Community Relations at Bright Hope Pregnancy Support Center. Welcome Jennifer!

Diane Donaher gave an update about a potential Interact Club at Liberty High School. Liberty Students have been participating in a Key Club that has since lost its connection to Kiwanis. The students are excited about partnering with Rotary to give back to the community.

We'll begin work soon on our park project. Look for dates from President Elect Pete for when that will be.

Our club will be making a donation to Second Harvest to help with purchasing food for those in need. We also received a nice thank you card from Christmas City Spirits for our donation to their sanitizer project. Our Club is continuing to strengthen our community even though we can't be together.

Our happy hours are now weekly, Thursdays at 5:30pm. Look for the link from Al Philpotts to join.

Our speaker this week will be Alexander Alex from LVHN Veteran Health Program. We'll also have new member inductions. I hope you'll join us Wednesday.

Yours in Rotary service,

President Thea Lind

Italian Rotarians aid in coronavirus fight

While Italy has been largely locked down to fight the coronavirus, members of the Rotary Club of Morimondo Abbazia have provided support for people and businesses reeling from the effects of the pandemic. Their efforts are addressing both immediate and long-term needs including donating meals to health care workers, organizing a supply chain to get ingredients for liquid sanitizer, and helping businesses that depend on in-person commerce move their operations online.
