Our Bethlehem Rotary Club showed just how quickly we can adapt during this time. We had a last minute presentation from Rick Lawrence from the Rotary Club of Manchester Connecticut on water and sanitation projects Rotary Clubs have worked on in Guatemala. Thanks to Marty Fins, former Manchester Rotary Club member for coordinating his friend's presentation this week. I heard from many of you on how meaningful this presentation was. I was impressed for several reasons.
  1. This project has been done over eight global grants and 15 years.
  2. So many Rotary Clubs participated in funding this. Bethlehem Rotary Club jumped on board this year contributing $500.
  3. Seeing how people in other parts of the world live in comparison to the "sacrifices" we are making during this pandemic is a real wake-up call. Thank you Rick (and Marty) for bringing this to our awareness. This project provides clean water, easily accessible, sanitary latrines, and safer stoves for villages in Guatemala.
Rick Lawrence - Zooming his presentation to us from Florida.  Thanks Rick for all you do for Rotary.

Bear with us in the coming weeks as programming may change at the last minute due to current circumstances. If you have an idea for a topic, send it to Karley Sebia.

Our Zone is holding a virtual blood drive on April 29 (although any day is helpful). You should have all received the email. You can use Group iD 8557 to sign up as part of the group. Appointments are required and Miller Keystone is keeping with social distancing practices.

You'll also see our club hosting some impromptu happy hours. Join in if your schedule allows!

Stay safe!

Yours in Rotary service,

President Thea Lind
