Wednesday, July 1st we opened a new Rotary year with an inspiring reminder about who we are and what we do. Harleysville Rotarian (and Telford Police Chief) Randy Floyd delivered an informative and inspiring presentation on the transformative power of Rotaplast. Randy is the District Mission Director for Rotaplast International, and told us of his many missions of mercy, especially a recent one to Pereira, Colombia, where 58 patients were treated for facial misconfigurations over a two week period. He spoke with passion and compassion about the gift that Rotaplast provides through these surgeries.
Just prior to Randy's talk, Past President Rob Littner presented Past President Kerry Wrobel with a citation for distinguished service in what has become the Club's signature fund raising event, Tastes and Tunes. This year's RI President Ravi Ravindran's theme is "Be a Gift to the World." Rotaplast and Tastes and Tunes are just that.

Hooray for the Bethlehem Rotary Club! At the District Changeover Dinner on June 29th in Blue Bell, Past President Rob Littner was presented with a District 7430 Citation for 2013-2014. The Bethlehem Club was also recognized for its fundraising efforts during the past year.
Here is another reminder to please support "Strike Out Hunger" with the Phillies and LA Dodgers on Wednesday, August 5th. The event helps children from Northeast Ministries, the Boys and Girls Club and the Center for Independent Living (S2L) attend a major league baseball game, many for the first time. In addition to that, our Rotary Foundation receives $9.00 back for every ticket sold. See Gerry or Jill Long for ticket information and how you can help in this important cause.
Tastes and Tunes 2015 is ramping up quickly toward the October 4th event. Thea Phalon and her team are really moving to make this year's benefit the biggest ever. As you may know, Andy and Carol Scott are serving as Honorary Chairs, and the beneficiary is the Boys and Girls Club of Bethlehem. Please think about donating items for the silent auction.
Our speaker for Wednesday, July 8th, is Cheryl Baker from Equi-librium in Nazareth. I think you will enjoy seeing Cheryl and hearing how her organization uses horses to empower people with special needs.
