On Wednesday John M. Morganelli, District Attorney for Northampton County, provided an interesting presentation on the operation of the DA’s Office and its interaction with various law enforcement agencies. We also heard about various initiatives including the Mental Health Court established to handle those non-violent offenders that have needs for mental health treatment.
THE ROTARY FOUNDATION: Foundation Chair George Mowrer reported on our progress. While we are closing in on our goals, it is very important each one of our members realizes how much impact every dollar makes. LAST CALL FOR DISTRICT ASSEMBLY: The District Training Assembly is a one day program open to any Rotarian on Saturday, May 16 from 7:30 to 3:30 p.m. at MONTCO in Blue Bell. Rotary members in California, USA, began helping poor communities in Ecuador through microcredit loans several years ago. When the Rotary Club of Marin Evening decided to take on a global grant project, it partnered with a microcredit organization in the province of Esmeraldas to extend its impact. They got other clubs involved to offer many more poor women small loans and training that will help them expand their businesses.
