I'm sure the warmer weather has something to do with it, but opportunities, projects, and events are building momentum since Spring arrived a month ago. Please allow me to share some of them this week. We always appreciate your participation in providing your talents to help us accomplish our mission of not only helping the community-but making the world a better place.
Thursday April 22 at 9am the Taste & Tunes 2021 Committee launches itself with a planning meeting for the October 3rd event. I know President-Elect Deb Walter and Chair Dee Dee Foran have an exciting new edition of T&T planned for our most important fundraiser of the year. What is it? Please refer to the email invitation Dee Dee sent out yesterday and find out the specifics. And reach out to me or Secretary Lori Knerr if you want to join the committee and receive T&T meeting information.
April 30-May 2 is the Tri-District Conference 2021. Registration for the virtual event is easy through our ClubRunner homepage at bethlehemparotary.org. AND don't forget to sign up for our "Day Of Service" project on Saturday May 1st from 1pm-5pm. at Centennial Park on Sand Island where we will weed, mulch, trim, plant and paint the area. I hope we have a big turnout to show Bethlehem Rotary cares, and who knows-maybe find a potential new member inspired to join our club. Our work parties always garner nice comments and inquiries from people enjoying "The Island"!
Monday May 3 at 7pm our RAGAS (Rotary Action Group Against Slavery) begins regularly scheduled meetings on the 1st Monday of the month. Bethlehem Rotary intends to be the lead club in District 7430 on fighting human-trafficking, bringing awareness of the problem to the public, and most importantly helping the victims heal from their nightmare. We need to increase member participation AND to invite non-Rotary members who have an interest in the cause to participate in these meetings and learn more about our efforts. Please contact Lori Knerr or Patrick Morgan to ask questions, or to join the committee, or to advise them that you know of a non-Rotarian who would like an invitation to a meeting.
