On Wednesday, George Mowrer and Diane Donaher presented to the membership an overview of The Rotary Foundation. Every club plays a part in the Foundation as the funds contributed are critical to the ongoing efforts of Rotary around the world. I stated at the beginning of my term as President that it is vital that we demonstrate as a club our commitment through our financial support. We as Rotarians believe in the mission of Rotary and through our contributions we do our part to perpetuate projects in the areas of focus including clean water, maternal and child health care and peace resolution. Please consider becoming a Paul Harris Fellow. You can start with a gift of any amount and like many of your fellow members, make contributions consistently over time. If you have missed a few years, make this the time to re-engage and contribute. These dollars come back to our District and provide the funding for our grant projects. We are already committed to next year’s grant project, Bike Works, which you heard about a few months ago. I announced Wednesday that Stacey J. Scholl will join the Board of Directors to complete the remaining term of Deb Cummins who resigned from the Club. Stacey is the Director of Development at Moravian Village of Bethlehem and a longtime member of Bethlehem Rotary. Please join me in congratulating Stacey.

Please give some thought to areas of club service that are of interest to you. Every member should serve on at least one committee. Newer members will be asked to serve on the Service Teams such as Greeter, Introduction of Visitors and Guests and 50-50 as a start but should join another committee to get the most out of learning more about Rotary. Contact the Chair or any Officer to discuss questions. Committees are the lifeblood of our Club. Join today and get active.
The District Conference is right around the corner. DG Gary Fedorcha invites you to Gettysburg for the District 7430 Conference April 24-26, 2015. Details are on the District website directly or through our Club’s Website.
The Fun & Friendship committee has planned our Winter event, Bowl & Bites, at Revolutions on Rt. 378, Join the fun on Thursday, February 26th from 6 -8 p.m. The cost is only $15 and includes bowling, food and soft drinks. See Buck Jones to sign up. Bring family and friends. Last year’s event was very well attended.
