This week Maria Dietrich gave her classification talk. Maria’s sponsor Mike McGovern noted that it was Maria who sought him out about Rotary. Maria grew up in Kempton, PA where her family runs a garage that has existed through several generations. She was a Spanish major in college and travelled abroad to perfect her Spanish language skills. She had several jobs doing paralegal work and travelled to Costa Rica to do some negotiations. This helped her realize her love for helping people. While working, she got a master’s degree in Higher Education and took a position at Northampton Community College working with International students. She recently accepted a full time position there as Director of Study Abroad & International Programs. She’s joined Rotary because she feels our mission of Service Above Self aligns with her personal mission of helping others. She’s interested in helping our club expand our international programs.
A great classification talk from a new member -- Thanks Maria
