THIS WEEK -- We will hear from two local men who experienced the first four years of Allentown College, now DeSales University. Don Wright and Deacon George Kelly will share their experiences of showing up on Day 1 of its existence and creating a four-year college experience. I have heard many stories from members of Allentown College's Class of 69, and they never cease to amaze me. One of my favorites is Joe Mascari arriving from Pittsburgh with no money in his pockets and upon discovering that his dorm room floor had not been poured yet was told to stay in a motel and that the college would "settle up" with him later. Another is the infamous donkey basketball games -- yes, played with real donkeys, or the endless stories of wild animals from the fields being placed in the dorm rooms of unsuspecting classmates. Join us through
Zoom has they share their photos and stories.
YESTERDAY -- Our thanks to Bill Rowe for organizing an outstanding service project as our Rotarians donated, cooked, and served food to more than 70 persons in need at the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter last evening. Although I pride myself on my ability to cook for an army, the task gave me great appreciation for those who actually cook for large groups regularly. I was surprised that my grandmother's giant bread bowl was barely up to the task. Our thanks to: Al Philpotts, Jennifer Cunningham, Darlene Heller, Robin and Roger Burk, Dee Dee Foran, Marty Fins, Mark Walter, and Anne Milham.

LAST WEEK -- Darlene Heller presented the Greenway Project in South Bethlehem, and we learned of many of the partnerships that made it possible and how each section is unique. I hope we all can walk it when we have the opportunity.
