On Wednesday B.J. Metz addressed the club on The Miracle League of Northampton County. This project came to life just a few short years ago. With broad community support the specialized field was built and opened in 2012. Now with nearly 300 participants, the League gives every child the chance to play baseball. Easton Rotary raised $100,000 towards the field in recognition of its 100 year anniversary. Thank you B.J. for sharing this important community resource.
Membership is 108 with 54.03% attendance for March.

UPDATE ON THE ROTARY FOUNDATION : Foundation Chair George Mowrer reports this week on the campaign. DISTRICT ASSEMBLY: The District Training Assembly is a one day program open to any Rotarian wanting to become more engaged in Rotary and for those interested in club leadership. Register for the Assembly on Saturday, May 16 from 7:30 to 3:30 p.m. at MONTCO in Blue Bell. The Club will cover the registration fee for all those who wish to attend. President-Elect Mike will be there and I am sure he would enjoy some company. Contact Deb Geiger or Mike McGovern to sign up.
CLUB SERVICE ASSIGNMENTS: Please give some thought to areas of club service for next year. Every member will be asked to select at least one committee. Newer members will be asked to serve on the Service Teams such as Greeter, Introduction of Visitors and Guests and 50-50 as well as another committee. IRON PIGS ON APRIL 28th: Dugout suite tickets are still available for no charge. Join in the fun as the Membership Committee hosts a night out at the ball game. Bring a prospective new member to the Iron Pigs game on April 28th. We will provide the tickets. There will be food and beverages too. U.S. Rotary members in Maine wanted to improve schools in Bikaner, India. At first, they simply donated school desks. But working with local Rotary members, they created a global grant project to meet the community’s most urgent needs: better training for teachers and giving unschooled children a chance at education.
