On Wednesday, we learned about world class theater in the Lehigh Valley form Patrick Mulcahy, Producing Artistic Director of the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (headquartered at DeSales University). The PSF stages several "summer stock" classical and contemporary productions using professional (Equity) actors at the LaBuda Center for the Performing Arts. In 2015, over 11,000 people attended, many to see the record-breaking production of Les Miserables. The Festival also encourages education about theater through its traveling performances of "Shakespeare for Children" and fairy tale classics like last summer's Rapunzel. It's great theater and much less expensive and stressful than the trek to New York.

Jill Long reminded everyone that we still need 'higher end' silent auction items for Tastes and Tunes. Think about golf foursomes, theater and/or sporting event tickets, or weekends at resorts. There is still time to make the silent auction this year more successful than ever before.
Jill also reminded us that we would still like to enter another foursome in the District 7430 Golf Outing at Silver Creek on October 8th. It should be a great day. Please see Jill or Gerry to sign up.
Speaking of T&T, we still need many volunteers who can help with the many same day chores of set up, breakdown, tallying, registration and general help. Please try to donate a few hours to help. Contact Pam Beattie to sign up.
The District has sent out the call for the Rotary Leadership Institute to be held at King of Prussia on November 7th. RLI is a great way to learn more about Rotary, and is a great experience for every Rotarian, not just Board members and officers. Our speaker at this week's meeting will be our own, Dennis Costello, General Manager of the Hotel Bethlehem, who will fill us in on the history of the presidential suites at this grand and historic hotel in the center of our community. I hope you will be there to hear what promises to be a very interesting story.
