United Kingdom pledges $130 million for polio eradication
The United Kingdom pledged $130 million on Friday toward the fight to eradicate polio. The contribution will help fund immunizations of 45 million children a year through 2020. In June, at the Rotary Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, global leaders pledged $1.2 billion of the estimated $1.5 billion required to end polio. However, Rotary's work continues. We're now working to raise $50 million a year and to ensure that global leaders make good on this summer's pledges.
