The 12th Annual Tastes & Tunes was held on October 13, 2024 at DeSales University. We changed it up this year by having horse races, basket raffles, silent auction and 50/50 raffle.
This is an audience participation video event where actual races are show on multiple screens to re-create the atmosphere of being at the racetrack. Place your bets, lights are dimmed, and then you will see the field of entries parading to the post and lining up at the starting gate. A thrilling race is then viewed while the crowd cheers for their horse. To add to the mounting excitement, the announcer at the race is heard calling the positions of the horses as they race to the finish line.
We raised $23, 500 and the proceeds were equally distributed to The Bridges Foundation supporting Bethlehem Area Vo-Tech School and the Bethlehem Rotary Foundation.
We had so much fun and positive feedback that we're doing it AGAIN next year!
