4-Way Speech Contest

No lunch meeting, but all members can attend

This event will be held at Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School 12:30 - 1:30.  Judges from Rotary Club of Bethlehem and Morning Star will select a representative to go on to the regional competition.  All members are invited to attend, but there will NOT be a formal meeting or lunch.

Small changes, BIG impact for your health

Sally Handlon is founder and president of Handlon Business Resources (HBR) LLC, a woman-owned business, located in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.

She is a 2007 recipient of the PA Best 50 Women in Business, 2004 recipient of the US Small Business Administration Women In Business Advocate – Philadelphia Region, The Morning Call’s – Lehigh Valley “30 Who Shape the Valley” and “Women to Watch” as well as Niche Magazine’s Top 100 Retailers Nominee. In 2011 she became the recipient of the Lehigh Valley Suits Award representing Management Consultants. Other awards include the Chamber’s Athena Award(1988) and The Hillside School Service Award(1996). In 2014 she was selected as “MVP” by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.

She has been keynote speaker at area events as well as presented position papers at the American Bankers Association in Atlanta, Retail Lending conference in Boston and the Iacocca Institute at Lehigh University. She is a past senior seminar advisor for Cedar Crest College and is currently a member of the Women’s Leadership Advisory Committee.

Sally currently is a community host for Lehigh Valley Discourse on WDIY 88.1 fm, the Lehigh Valley’s NPR station. Her show focuses on both business and wellness in the Lehigh Valley.

Sally is a published author!  Your Journey to Aging Well (May 2020) has allowed her to share her 30+ year passion for health and wellness.  To learn more about this passion, go to www.bodyconstruction.me.

Patrons at the Café donate what they can to eat food together in a warm and hospitable environment. Volunteers work together to grow, cook, and serve food in warm and welcoming ways

Strike Out Hunger at the Phillies

Please join us for Strike Out Hunger night on Monday, August 18 when the Phillies play the Mariners at Citizens Bank Park.  Our own Past District Governor Herb Klotz will be throwing out the first pitch on behalf of Rotary! The game starts at 6:45PM and the first pitch is about 15-30 minutes before the game.  For every ticket sold through this event, the Phillies will donate nearly 50% of the ticket price to Polio Plus in the name of your Rotary Club!

Mary and her husband, Doug, moved to PA in 1998 and immediately became involved in the Collegeville club. Mary, a three-term past president of the club, was raised in southern N.J. and attended Rutgers University, earning a BA in Business Administration. Shortly after her marriage to her high school sweetheart, PDG (15-16) Doug Cook, they moved to Maine and raised three cool kids – Ashleigh Taraborelli, Brittany Cook, and Courtney Woodley. Doug and Mary have six grandchildren.
