This event will be held at Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School 12:30 - 1:30.  Judges from Rotary Club of Bethlehem and Morning Star will select a representative to go on to the regional competition.  All members are invited to attend, but there will NOT be a formal meeting or lunch.

Antek is atttending Liberty HS and is on the tennis team.  He is from Warsaw Poland and he will tell us about his experiences this year as an exchange student.  Our club is sharing the expenses of hosting a student with Bethlehem Morning Star.  Don't miss this meeting and the opportunity to meet and greet Antek! 

Rotary Basics is a reference guide for members.  This booklet will be handed out to each member and discussed.

Sarah is Bethlehem's first-ever sustainabiltiy manager.  She is passionate about enironmental science and creating a greener future.

The club elections will be held on June 11th, 2025. Per our bylaws, nominations can be made from the floor provided the nominee has agreed to serve before the meeting. If you are not attending the meeting, please vote by sending an email message to Ham Malek.  WE NEED A QUORUM, AND ELECTRONIC VOTES ARE ALLOWED.

Sally Handlon is founder and president of Handlon Business Resources (HBR) LLC, a woman-owned business, located in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.

She is a 2007 recipient of the PA Best 50 Women in Business, 2004 recipient of the US Small Business Administration Women In Business Advocate – Philadelphia Region, The Morning Call’s – Lehigh Valley “30 Who Shape the Valley” and “Women to Watch” as well as Niche Magazine’s Top 100 Retailers Nominee. In 2011 she became the recipient of the Lehigh Valley Suits Award representing Management Consultants. Other awards include the Chamber’s Athena Award(1988) and The Hillside School Service Award(1996). In 2014 she was selected as “MVP” by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.

She has been keynote speaker at area events as well as presented position papers at the American Bankers Association in Atlanta, Retail Lending conference in Boston and the Iacocca Institute at Lehigh University. She is a past senior seminar advisor for Cedar Crest College and is currently a member of the Women’s Leadership Advisory Committee.

Sally currently is a community host for Lehigh Valley Discourse on WDIY 88.1 fm, the Lehigh Valley’s NPR station. Her show focuses on both business and wellness in the Lehigh Valley.

BES - update and the challenges

We will meet at the ArtsQuest Building.  This is anothen great opportunity to bring a friend, colleague or family member to not only hear about what is going on at ArtsQuest, but to meet fellow Rotarians.  Cost will be approximately $20 per attendee

Provides Veterans with assistance accessing benefits, securing shelter, and providing long-lasting Post Traumatic Stress resources. Helps find shelter for Veterans who, due to health or means, are unable to find or keep shelter of their own, and Post Traumatic Stress resources to Veterans through their Veterans Unstoppable program

Bethlehem Catholic HS Student, Thao Do, will talk about her expereince at the World Affairs Seminar June 21 – 27, 2025   We sponsored Thao as a student delegate for the week-long World Affairs Seminar at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI.  The theme this year was:  Peacebuilding: Creating Lasting Change. 

Mary and her husband, Doug, moved to PA in 1998 and immediately became involved in the Collegeville club. Mary, a three-term past president of the club, was raised in southern N.J. and attended Rutgers University, earning a BA in Business Administration. Shortly after her marriage to her high school sweetheart, PDG (15-16) Doug Cook, they moved to Maine and raised three cool kids – Ashleigh Taraborelli, Brittany Cook, and Courtney Woodley. Doug and Mary have six grandchildren.
