Thank you all who donated a toy for the Toys for Tots toy drive this year. So far we have collected about 30 toys. Santa’s Elf, AKA Pete Mickolay, just told me that we are still collecting until noon on Friday December 15, so if you have not yet donated a toy, there is still time. The generosity of Rotarians will make a huge difference in the lives of children whose parents cannot afford gifts for their children. The spirit of the joyous holiday season lives on, creating hope in children and the world, as our club remains a steady beacon in the community.
I’d also like to thank everyone who nominated organizations for our 2024 "Tastes & Tunes Goes to the Races!" We received quite a few nominees and will be announcing the chosen beneficiary very soon. The committee is very excited for next year's event, with a fun, new twist on Tastes &Tunes! We have a committed, active committee but will welcome more volunteers as well. If you are interested in helping please reach out to me.
We are also holding our annual Holiday Luncheon at the Hotel Bethlehem on Wednesday December 20 at noon. Friends, family, and colleagues are welcome to attend with you. The cost is $40 per person. This would be a great way to welcome someone you know that may be interested in joining Rotary. RSVP’s and menu choices are required by Wednesday December 13. Please email Jill Long at
jillwilsonlong@gmail.com with your menu choice and number of attendees.
The menu choices are:
- Boneless braised beef short ribs with natural braising jus
- Pan seared Atlantic salmon, tomato onion confit and lemon ver jus emulsion
Both choices are served with the mixed greens house salad with balsamic vinaigrette, Chef's selection of seasonal vegetables, starch and dessert. Also served are artisanal breads, butter, iced tea and freshly brewed and decaffeinated LavAzza coffee and assorted and herbal teas.
I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday where our speaker will be Kristin Wenrich, Health Bureau Director for the City of Bethlehem.
