Suggest a Speaker

Monday, January 30, 2023

THIS WEEK:
  • Join us on Wednesday at noon at the Fowler Family Center on 3 rd Street. Our guest speaker will be Madeline Beck, Community Outreach Coordinator, for Angel Flight. The organization provides qualified patients with free civilian air transport to distant hospitals.
  • We need your assistance with in-gathering of items.  Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering (BES) needs:
    • hand warmers,
    • winter gloves,
    • winter hats,
    • thermal underwear,
    • backpacks,
    • ponchos.
    • Anything and everything as long as it is able to handle wet snow. Knit gloves and cloth that absorbs water should be avoided.
  • Please bring your donations to the meeting this week 2/1, or next week 2/8.
LAST WEEK:
  • With the rare forecast for snow in Bethlehem this winter, we moved the lunch meeting to the Zoom platform exclusively. The guest speaker, Pamela Johnson, is rescheduled for February 8.
  • We engaged in a meaningful discussion about levels of poverty in Bethlehem. In the process we came up with a couple effective ways for our Club to respond to the needs around us. Special thanks to Gerry Long for introducing the topic and Winston Alozie for volunteering to guide us through the next steps.

Lunch:  ORDER BY MONDAY 3PM

All sandwiches on Kaiser rolls and served with potato salad, condiments, cookies/brownies, iced tea & water.

  • HAM & CHEESE
  • TUNA SALAD & AMERICAN
  • CHICKEN SALAD & AMERICAN
  • SMOKED TURKEY BREAST & CHEESE

Yours in Rotary service,

President Hopeton Clennon
