This week our Club held a business meeting, which I hope to continue monthly going forward.
 
  • Beginning Wednesday September 6 we will be returning to Moravian Village. The cost is $18 per person. A question was asked if it will continue to be a buffet. I am not sure of that answer, but will reach out to Moravian Village and find out. Stay tuned!
  • We discussed having a Club Manual. This would be a paper and electronic manual that would house club documents. We also discussed a place to house other Club items such as awards and plaques.
    • Marty Fins shared one that he had from another club he was associated with. We are going to form a group to review and compile our own. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to me.
    • It was suggested that some of the club documents may be at Moravian still. If you have any thoughts on this please let me know.
  • Once again we received a donation from Wind Creek from their slot voucher program. The check was for a little over $3200! I also solicited auction/raffle items for Tastes & Tunes.
  • Which brings me to Tastes & Tunes. Please look at our website and keep this event front of mind with friends, colleagues and your centers of influence. We need sponsorships and auction/raffle items donated.
  • We also hope to have a “Committee Spotlight” at meetings. I would have the committee chairs discuss what the committee is doing, what they need from us,  or simply offer insight into the committee.
  • Please look for an email coming form me soon inquiring about engagement. The Board and I want to better understand our members and what it is that you are looking for from the Club.
  • Beginning in November we will start having 1 meeting a month at night. This will replace the noontime meeting for that week. It will be the 1st Wednesday of the month, time and place TBD. At this time we are thinking more of a social meeting with maybe 15 minutes or so of business. I am hoping to work with Membership and have some membership drives at these meetings as well. Suggestions for places, format, etc. are welcome!
  • October 5 we will be having a joint meeting with Area 1 and Area 2 Clubs. It will be held at the Kellyn Foundation in Tatamy. We are able to have a table to advertise projects, etc. we are doing. Cost is $35pp and will include dinner. There will also be Tolino Vineyards and Weyerbacher Brewery present. More details to come!
  • Committees
    • I am still looking for an IT/Admin Chair to manage the weekly bulletin, website, and social media. I am currently doing all social media posting.
    • Other committee chairs are:
      • Membership – Ham Malec
      • Programming/Social – Darlene Heller
      • Service Projects – Pete Mickolay
      • District Governor – DeeDee Foran
      • Service Teams – Bill Eckert
      • Youth Programs – Maria Dietrich
      • Fundraising – Lori Knerr
    • Please share any ideas for the above committees with the Chairs.

This is YOUR CLUB and I am working for us to build a vibrant, active club going forward, so I am always open to hearing your thoughts, ideas and suggestions.
