THIS WEEK -- We will hear about the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter where we have volunteered, making lunches and making and serving dinner. Executive Director of Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering, Inc. Bob Rapp, our Zoom speaker,  is a 2013 Graduate of the Crossroads Lay Leadership Program at Moravian Theological Seminary. He first came to Christ Church in the summer of 2016 as a pastoral intern working toward licensed ministry in the UCC Church. He accepted the call to be the Pastor for Mission of Christ Church beginning October 7, 2018. His previous life endeavors were as a business owner and a truck driver specializing in hauling heavy equipment.  In recent years, his passion for homeless veterans led him to an outreach position with Hope for Veterans. 

 

LAST WEEK -- We learned a lot about immigration at the southern border from local Attorney Molly Marte including how dangerous the U.S. policy of dropping illegal crossers in Tijuana to wait years for their trial is. Attorney Marte will join us for our Feb. 16th 7 pm discussion of the book: "The Line Becomes a River."
