Here is President Mike's weekly newsletter:

Happy New Year, Fellow Rotarians!

I hope you are all enjoyed the tail end of the holiday season with family, friends and (for some at least) lots of college football.
As we begin the second half of the Rotary year, we foresee a busy and enjoyable six months ahead.  Our Centennial celebration dinner will be held on Friday, June 2nd, at the Hotel Bethlehem.  Preparations continue under the leadership of an energetic and creative committee.  In addition, we will be partnering with our host city as Bethlehem celebrates its 275th anniversary this year.  Some notable events are on tap, and we hope to mount a project for the city as Rotary's contribution  to this special anniversary year.  More to come on this.

As many of you know, we will once again be partnering with Morningstar  to stage our annual golf outing at Silver Creek on June 6th.  Our beneficiary this year will be the BAVTS Bridges Foundation.  Plans are already underway and we hope it will be a rousing success.  We also plan to have a few "fun and fellowship" events to get us over the long months of winter.

Our first meeting of the new calendar year will be Wednesday, January 6th.  It might be a good time to have a "Happy Bucks" session and the program is shaping up.  I hope to see you all there.

Until then, continue to be a gift to the community.

Yours in Rotary,

Mike McGovern, President

Make a New Year’s resolution to give

Schoolchildren in India have desks to sit at. Women and children in Monrovia, Liberia, are being saved from AIDS. And poor women in Esmeraldas, Ecuador, are starting small businesses to provide for their families. When you give to The Rotary Foundation, you support projects like these all over the world. Discover how your gift to the Foundation does a world of good, and find out how easy it is to give.
