New Rotarian Andy Mowrer delivered his classification talk at Wednesday’s meeting. Andy was sponsored and introduced by his father, PP and PDG Tip Mowrer, and joked that his distinguished family of Rotarians may indeed be taking over the Rotary. Andy shared with us his growing up in Bethlehem, his musical talents on guitar (complete with a video snippet), and his professional career as a senior internal auditor for Hajoca Corporation, the nation’s leading plumbing supply company. Andy’s wife Stacey and daughter Izabella are a big part of his life. When he’s on the road with his career duties, he often attends make up Rotary meetings across the country. We’re glad to have you on board with the Bethlehem Rotary Club, Andy.
BAVTS Artisan of the Month Ivan Carmenatty joined us as well. Ivan is a senior at Liberty High School enrolled in the Protective Services program at the Vo-Tech School. Ivan is an honors student who spoke movingly about his commitment to service projects and academic success. Upon graduation, he plans to attend Northampton Community College and earn his certification as a Paramedic. Ivan was joined at lunch by his parents and his Vo-Tech teacher, John Karb.
Many thanks to Bob Cohen (County Dublin?) and Sandy O’Neill (County Tyrone?) for leading us in some Irish songs to conclude the meeting. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all.

The Community Bike Works celebrated its 20th anniversary at Coca-Cola Park on Thursday, March 17th, and brought along the van purchased in part with funds raised from the Bethlehem Rotary Club’s District Grant. The van is already helping children throughout the Lehigh Valley to repair, restore and ride their bicycles. Our club was recognized for its support and the van, bedecked with the Rotary logo, was parked out front for all to see.
Our speaker for the meeting on Wednesday, March 23rd will be our Rotary Exchange Student from Spain, Paula Fabon. This promises to be a very interesting program. I hope you can attend.
